The Adventure Continues for Barrie’s World Traveler, Willard Kinzie!
I have worked with Camphill Communities for five years now, first creating and since then promoting each annual Community Action Award Tribute Dinner. It is especially gratifying at this time of year to help those who need our help to simply live full, respectful lives. Camphill, with communities in both Barrie and Angus, and recently added, the THE CAMPHILL STORE on Dunlop street, is a wonderful cause.
In this spirit, this year we honour Barrie’s first mayor, community builder and international adventurer Willard Kenzie. Willard’s sincere dedication to the city of Barrie, while helping to deliver a better quality of life of those who reside here, make him the perfect recipient of our annual Community Action Award. This award celebrates those who give unselfishly of themselves through community service.
As well, Willard has organized many trips around the world, bringing new horizons to his friends and companions. Many of these travelers have had a hand in the civic growth of the city, founding businesses and organizations that have since grown to become the professional and commercial fabric of Barrie today.
Camphill Communities Ontario is a not-for-profit organization who helps adults and seniors in Simcoe County who have an intellectual disability. Our vision is to enable a community where people of diverse abilities enjoy quality of life and personal growth in a rich social and cultural environment.
The 5th Annual Camphill Tribute Dinner is scheduled for April 20th and will be held at the Barrie Golf and Country Club. Save the date! All these fabulous Tribute Dinners have sold out! More details will follow. If you are interested in attending this entertaining evening, joining Willard’s many friends and cohorts in celebrating a life of community service and adventure, please call 705-424-5363 or email email@example.com.
